Closed Record Verification Service (CRVS)

The Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards (ASPPB) has been a leader in the retention of psychologist data since 1961. As psychology training programs and universities close, ASPPB offers to permanently store the records for psychologists having attended the program/school as an agent for the primary source. This ensures availability of the records for future purposes of psychology licensure.

What information is available for psychologists?
Information that is available for a psychologist is that information which is pertinent to the credentialing verification needs of organizations such as: name, program/school name, dates of attendance, transcripts, school affiliation, training level, training year, department, program director name and/or whether or not the training was successfully completed. ASPPB will maintain the records indefinitely and the records forwarded to ASPPB by the programs are unchanged from the original records.

Current Closed Training Programs

  • Appalachian Regional Healthcare Psychology Internship, Hazard, KY
  • California College of the Arts Psychology Training Program, Oakland, CA
  • Caltech Counseling Center, Post Doctoral Residency, Pasadena, CA
  • Michael Reese Hospital & Medical Centers, Chicago, IL

Current Closed Universities

  • Arizona School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University, Phoenix, AZ (Important Note: Due to file maintenance activities, please expect a 4-6 week processing delay on some requests)
  • Forest Institute of Professional Psychology

How do I request university records from ASPPB?
Access PSY|PRO, ASPPBā€™s online credentials management system, to request closed records. If you are accessing PSY|PRO for the first time, be sure to select "Register as a new user." Once logged in, you will see Closed Records Verification Service on the right side of your home page, which will allow you to identify the type of record requested and where the records should be sent.
