ASPPB Examination for Professional Practice in Psychology (EPPP) Preparatory Materials
  • Items from Previous Exams contains 250 retired questions from previous versions of the Examination for Professional Practice of Psychology (EPPP), as well as an answer key and general reference list. Included exam items are intended to give candidates for licensure or certification a sense of what EPPP items are like. ($75 USD) (Now $37.50!) These retired items were last updated in March of 2000. All other information contained in the publication was revised in March of 2006.
  • Information for Candidates Brochure is intended for those individuals who are preparing to take the Examination for Professional Practice of Psychology (EPPP). It contains details about applying and taking the EPPP, scoring, receiving examination results, test specifications / summary of EPPP content areas, sample questions, and more. It is downloadable at no charge here.
  • ASPPB EPPP Practice Exams consist of two different computer-delivered practice tests for the Examination for Professional Practice in Psychology (EPPP): the PEPPO (delivered at Prometric centers) and the PEPPPO (delivered at-home)

ASPPB Examination for Professional Practice of Psychology (EPPP) Validity Studies
  • Psychology Licensing Exam Scores by Doctoral Program - This publication contains self-report information on EPPP candidates who tested over the past five years and includes pass rate data.  Only doctoral programs that are APA/CPA accredited or have met ASPPB/National Register Joint Designation criteria are listed individually by name in the table.  Data for individual programs are shown only when there are 3 or more graduates in the five-year period.  The pass rates included are based on the ASPPB recommended passing score of 500 for independent practice.  Although each board sets the standard for passing in its respective state or province, at the present time the majority of jurisdictions using the EPPP accepts the ASPPB recommended passing score for independent practice.

  • Practice Analysis is an analysis of the practice of psychology in Canada and the United States conducted in 2003 and serves as the foundation of the current test specifications for the EPPP.
ASPPB Model Publications
  • ASPPB Code of Conduct is a set of suggested guidelines that jurisdictions may adopt or incorporate to govern the professional conduct of licensees. It is an interesting document that would be useful in courses on ethics and professional practice.
  • ASPPB Model Act for Licensure of Psychologists features a licensure act template, which psychology boards may find useful when drafting their governing laws/regulations. This publication includes language regarding continuing education requirements, interjurisdictional practice, health service providers and numerous other regulatory issues.
  • ASPPB Model Regulations for Licensure of Psychologists features a licensure regulation template, which psychology boards may find useful when drafting their rules/regulations.
Licensure and Practice Issues
  • Ethical Dilemmas Facing Psychologists is a 40-minute DVD designed to promote discussion of ethical dilemmas. Its five segments include several ethical issues and sub-issues and offer inappropriate and more appropriate resolutions. This DVD is useful to individual practitioners and students as well as to psychology doctoral programs, regulatory boards, psychological associations and continuing education providers.   • Professional Conduct & Discipline in Psychologyis a companion book to the Ethical Dilemmas Facing Psychologists video and is available from APA Books. The text, published jointly with ASPPB, outlines ethical dilemmas, offers strategies for handling them, and details possible consequences of acting in an unethical manner.   • ASPPB Resources for Prescriptive Authority
  • ASPPB Newsletter is published quarterly to disseminate current news to members. The purpose of the newsletter is to keep member boards and interested individuals up-to-date on ASPPB business relevant to state/provincial and national issues.
